Can you believe this is our FIFTH year to play FQ Bingo!!??!

Here is your chance

To get lucky & win hundreds of Fat Quarters!

Final Number of FQ’s to be determined – the number grows each day until the game begins.

Between now and game day, I'll post on the HGTV message board the growing total…. so go & take a look!

Last year we had over 2300* FQ’s!!!

*split among 4 groups of players.

SEND ME: This year you have 2 choices – FQs for each bingo card as in years past.... OR for the first time ever, In honor of our FIFTH year milestone, you can send whole yard pieces to earn bonus playing cards!

1 yard = 5 Bingo Cards

2 yards = 10 Bingo Cards

3 yards = 15 Bingo Cards

4 yards = 20 Bingo Cards

If you send in FIVE yards or more you will be receive ANOTHER one time FIVE BONUS CARDS in addition to the cards for each yard!

5 yards = 25 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 30 Bingo Cards!

6 yards = 30 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 35 Bingo Cards!

7 yards = 35 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 40 Bingo Cards!

8 yards = 40 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 45 Bingo Cards!

9 yards = 45 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 50 Bingo Cards!

10 yards = 50 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 55 Bingo Cards!

Whichever you choose to send, please remember we want our jackpot to be full of very nice lovelies for our winners – so please send the best quality fabric that you can afford. Thanks!

TYPE OF FABRICS: We’re looking for 100% cotton fabric that is good quality. Please NO children’s novelty, flannels or $1/yard fabrics or home decorator fabrics please!

For those of you that want to “shop your stash” please send no more than 2 yards of each fabric or no more than 8 FQs of the same fabric. If your stash piece is over 5 years old; please don’t include it in this game. We don’t want any oldies. Thank you.

TO COVER SHIPPING OF FQ’S TO THE WINNERS – I will insure the boxes to be shipped to the winners and to cover this cost, I will need each player to pay the following in order to play:

If sending Fat Quarters use this guide:

1-5 FQ’s – send $2

6-10 FQ’s – send $3

11-15 FQ’s – send $4

16-20 FQ’s – send $5

21-25 FQ’s – send $6

25-30 FQ’s – send $7

If sending YARD pieces this year follow this guide:

1-2 yards of fabric = $3

3-4 yards of fabric = $4

5-6 yards of fabric = $5

7-8 yards of fabric = $6

9-10 yards of fabric = $7

If sending in a combination of both email me and we’ll figure out a fair amount for you to send to cover shipping

I WILL EMAIL BINGO CARDS TO YOU:

One Bingo Card for each fat quarter you send to me. Or if you send in yards you will get 5 cards per yard and if you reach the 5 yard or more you will earn an additional 5 BONUS cards. Bingo Cards will be sent via email as you sign up to play and all players will have their cards by the end of March 2010.

I WILL CALL:

2 #’s per day (but not on Sunday) - UNTIL someone emails me with the statement, “BINGO, I HAVE BINGO! I WIN! SEND ME MY FABRIC! ;) Or words to that effect.

GROUPS OF PLAYERS:

Players will be divided into four groups. The total number of FQ’s in the jackpot will be divided and each group will be playing for their quarter of the total jackpot. There will be winners from each group. I will split the players into groups A, B, C and D after sign-ups are completed. Players are limited to be in only 1 group.

PRIZES & How to WIN:

RUNNER-UP PRIZE

The first person(s) in each group to make the outer box of their game card will win 25 FQ’s each.

GRAND PRIZE WINNERS:

The person/s in each group to be first to fill in EVERY NUMBER on their card = EVERY SPACE COVERED! This is called a “BLACK OUT” BINGO GAME. Grand Prize winners will win remaining portion of their group’s jackpot after the runner up prizes have been deducted!

IF THERE IS A TIE – the FQ’s will be divided equally among winning the players in their group. And there is a good chance we will have ties… both of the previous years the jackpots have been split between the winners.

It only takes 1 card to win – but you do increase your chances for winning with each card you play with. It's up to you!

Yesterday I emailed the invite to last year's Group A players and today I'm going ahead and sending it out to Group B.

I know that everyone is excited about the game as they look forward to it each year! I am so glad that my Daddy and step mom from Kentucky have already had their visit (they spent Valentine's Weekend with us) so that now when the FQs/yards start arriving I can use the guest bed to store them on! ;)

I'll wait a couple days before emailing the invite out to Group C & D and then after the weekend is over - hopefully I'll be ready to open it up to any newbie players! ;) This game is fun for one and all!

Looking forward to Game Day - April 1st - NO Foolin!

It's getting close to FQ Bingo Time again!!!

To all of my previous HGTV FQ Bingo players - here's a little heads up BEFORE you get your FQs ready – I'll go ahead and share this here with all of you to read – BEFORE you cut anything up….. take a look below ;)

Hello quilting friends!!! Guess what time it is??

The 5^th Annual HGTV Fat Quarter Bingo Game 2010!

Can you believe that this year is our FIFTH year to play!!??! It’s been very exciting and a boar favorite that players look forward to each April Fool’s Day! That is when the number calling begins! And like in past years, I’ll call 2 number each day excluding Sundays until we have BINGO winners!!!

In honor of our FIFTH year milestone, I have come up with something a little different that I think you will like.

This year, in honor of our 5^th year, if you mail in a WHOLE 1 yard piece of fabric you will receive FIVE bingo cards!! (instead of four)

1 yard = 5 cards

2 yards = 10 cards

3 yards = 15 cards

4 yards = 20 cards

However things get a little different if you send in our MILESTONE 5^th YEAR – you can earn BONUS cards!!

If you send in FIVE yards or more you will be receive ANOTHER FIVE BONUS CARDS in addition to the cards for each yard!

For example = send in a total of

5 yards = 25 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 30 cards!

6 yards = 30 cards + 5 BONUS cards = 35 cards!

You can still send in FQs for each card you want to play with – I’m sure a few of you FQ Bingo die hards, already have yours set aside and ready to go that you’ve picked out through the past year. ;) However after hearing from past winners that sometimes a fat quarter of beautiful fabric just isn’t enough to get started on a project without having the means to go find and buy more…. I thought this would be a great way to do the game this year.

If you received this as an email then you are the first to be notified and invited to play in this year’s game! ;) Breaking up the emails into player groups from last year helps me manage the email volume much better and stay organized without being overwhelmed.

You can simply reply back to the email to get signed up to play anytime between now and when the game starts, however the sooner you let me know – then the sooner I can start letting players know how big our winner’s jack pot is g-r-o-w-i-n-g!!!

I will be monitoring the 5^th HGTV FQ Bingo thread on the HGTV boards as players sign up and show a list there as well as the projected FQ JACKPOT – so keep up with us there to watch the FQs g-r-o-w and g-r-o-w ;)

In years past we have had over 2000+ FQs and I’m hoping that with the opportunity to get BONUS cards, this will be BY FAR, our largest and greatest FQ BINGO YET!!! :)

That was so supper kind of all of you to help me out after my reduction surgery last year!! I had lots of fun buying new bras, blouses, and even my new Easter dress last year – finally one that FIT me the way it should! ;)

All of my friends on the HGTV board are so special to me and I thank you all again for letting me continue to be your FQ Bingo hostess each year! It truly is a TON OF FUN for me! and I look forward to all the data organizing and nerdy spreadsheet keeping each year! :P
