Sneak Peaks at the Jackpot Stash

Above you are looking at all the Fat Quarters and 1 yard cut pieces that were sent in this year for the 5th Annual HGTV FQ Bingo. I've handled each and every piece at least a dozen times.. and am still having fun seeing all the different fabrics!

There were 459 FQs sent in and for the first time ever players had the opportunity to send in yard pieces for a bonus card chance... and players sent in 224 yards

So that means in FQ terms that comes out to ....224*4=896+459= 1355 FQs

I figured that so we could compare with past games jackpot amounts.

The first year,2005, our jackpot grew to 770 FQs

The second year, 2006, we had 1600, then our 3rd year we brought in 2332 FQs = our LARGEST GAME YET... and last year we had either 1600 or 1800 I forget exactly...

I was hoping this year we would knock em outta the water, with my BONUS card options for sending in yardage over FQs and even more chances for free bonus cards if players mailed in 5 yards or more... but while that did entice several - let's face it... the economy and the fact that so many have either been laid off or fear that they might be, that did effect our Bingo game.

We only had 90 players this year. The average for cards per player was 17.5

We had 4 players win 25 FQs each for their outside border win... they will receive their choice of FQs or yardage... to equal 6.25 in any combination. That's the same as 25 FQs ;)

I also like to ask them what project they are working on and may need fabrics for... or what color their stash is lacking... or what is their favorite color... Something for an idea on what to pull for them. I want the 25 FQs they get to be ones that they will like and enjoy... and use! ;)

About a week after the outside border winners were announced we had 2 players in each of the 4 groups TIE for BLACKOUT BINGO on the same day. (5/7)

Group C = mrs-c & zizzybob
Group D = mizsam & Handie Ann

They will each receive the equivalent of about 156 FQs... just under 40 yards of fabric... Congratulations again to the 8 winners!
